We created a map-based interface that was essential to communicating the complex relationships between candidates and countries.
Around the map UI, other elements were presented as interactive flipboards – a visual reference to air travel – which meant that a huge amount of data could be displayed piece by piece in a coherent and understandable way.
The challenge was to distill two million pieces of data from a global workforce survey into a sophisticated and visually appealing web tool for the world’s largest online recruitment specialist.
Recruitment specialists The Network surveyed over 160,000 candidates from 66 countries to identify the attitudes of the global workforce to moving abroad for work.
We were tasked to design and build a sophisticated online tool that would allow The Network’s clients to explore the results in a concise and visual way.
With a dataset of over two million items, it was clear we needed to prioritise the information with careful editing in order to highlight the key elements. We then developed a logical flow for setting parameters and viewing results.
To date, the tool has been used by over 8,000 invite-only recruiters.
